Jamie Fowler

The first time I had ever stepped onto a sailboat was on April 1st 2016. A good friend of mine bought a boat with the intention of learning to sail. I immediately fell in love with it and threw myself into learning all that I could. I learned a lot from YouTube those first few months and then I was finally given the chance to be a part of a real racing team! I found myself being yelled at a lot but also learning a TON. I am so thankful for those experiences and what they taught me. Over the last few years I have come to know many different sailors and boats and try to get out as much as possible. In August of 2017 I purchased my frist sailboat! She is a 1977 Newport 30II. Her name is Permanent Waves and she is Turquoise, which is also my favorite color. I am eagerly awaiting the spring and summer months here in Seattle, a time of year when there isnt much that can beat being out on the water with the wind in your sails. Even though I only discoverd sailing just a short time ago, I know in my heart that I was meant to be a sailor.
