Had my kayak in back of pick up woman hit the mount bent it pretty good so I had to order another one glad she had to pay 230 with shipping I have the nk180 hd on my hobie pa 14 I love the power but having a real hard time steering with my rudder bought an aluminum rudder didn't help so it looks like I'm going to be spending money on a foot steering system I paid 1299 for trolling moter 600 for 24 volt battery 27.00 for an extra magnetic key I don't remember how much I paid to have an extra prop jic throttle control mount 50 rock guard 70 a lot of money starting to think I should of bought a kayak with motor already installed

I purchased the 180 Pro about a year ago as part of my kayak build that turned out better than expected by the using the Newport 180 as the main part of the build. Because of new limitations I purchased the Isle Fly Water for its light weight, durability and stability.

If you have more than one kayak it’s a must have to have 2 motor mounts so you can switch back and forth between the kayaks with one single motor. These mounts are durable as well. I dropped the end of my kayak once and the mount smacked a big rock on the way down. No bending. Only scratches 💪🏼

Today we are going over the @newport_vessels NK Series motor mount. This is an essential part of the NK180Pro and the NK300. This motor mount is light weight, easy to install, easy to move from one kayak to the other, and it’s also forgiving.

This mount requires little to no special tools to install. Some kayaks these days even come with pre determined and drilled holes! Specifically on the @crescentkayaks Shoalie, I like to mount mine using T Bolts. With the design of the rear of the kayak, it’s incredibly hard for me hold nuts in the 2 most rear bolt holes due to the anchor shoot. The T Bolts allow me to use knobs instead of nuts in order for me to easily move from one to the other. If you don’t want to worry about special bolts or complicating things, the motor mount also comes with its own mounting hardware.

Not only is this mount easy to install but it’s also forgiving. This means that the mount is softer light weight metal. If you bump the mount on a wall or the ground, it can easily be bent back. This does not mean it’s fragile, I have definitely put it through its paces traveling the US catching bass!

Nk180 motor mount kit

The nk180 motor mount is just perfect if you have more than 1 kayak like switching motors between kayaks or DIY another brand brush electric motor. I currently own the nk180 brushless motor I love it. I wanted the nk180 mount only to install a Minn Kota 30 lb brush motor on my uncle’s Old Town sportsman 120. However when I received the nk180 it was missing a part and Chris at Newport Vessel was kind enough to send me one. Thanks Chris! I will wait until Christmas the Nk180 Pro will probably be on sale it’s going to be my second brushless motor .
