Terms of Warranty
At Newport, we will provide the original owner with the manufacturer warranty that covers any defects in material or workmanship. The warranty claim is directed towards the original purchase and is covered by the manufacturer.

How to make a claim?
Newport is an online electric motor and inflatable boat brand, meaning we will require a completed warranty claim submission of photos and videos of the damaged parts. More time than most, the damages are minor and simple to repair with the right guidance. Our support team will do our best to tackle the issue at hand and resolve via online support. Newport will not replace any parts/products without seeing photo or video content of the claimed damages and proof of purchase within the warranty coverage.

Not Covered by Warranty
The manufacturer’s warranty does not mean that you can abuse your Newport product and expect us to replace it for free. Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty for product components. Nor are accidents like dropping your motor in the ocean, or using your dinghy as a bumper for your 36' sailboat (seriously, we've had some interesting claims). Other incidentals such as loss, theft, or not following the care instructions provided in the Owners Manual may result in a denied warranty claim.

Inflatable Boat Life Cycle
Inflatable boats are tough, they are not indestructible and do not last forever. Every Newport Vessel boat has a useful product life cycle. The length of that useful product's life cycle will vary depending on the maintenance and care the boat receives, the amount and type of use the boat is subject to over its life, and sometimes more importantly how the boat is stored when not in use. Our website and our customer support team are the best source of care and information for your Newport boat. Read our Resource Guides to learn recommended use, as well as proper cleaning and storage procedures.
Newport boats are guaranteed to arrive free of workmanship or manufacturing defects. If an inflatable boat arrives and does not meet this high standard, please contact our customer support for further assistance. Moreover, as any inflatable boat owner knows, small air leaks can and will develop over time, as is the nature of an inflatable product.
Newport will evaluate these leaks on a case-by-case basis and will recommend one of the following solutions: patching a leak with our repair kit (if your boat did not arrive with one, contact us for a free kit), a Warranty replacement, or a more advanced repair. To submit a warranty claim, we require clear high-resolution photos of the product which clearly show the issue and a thorough description of the product issue. Blurry, dark, or indistinguishable photos of the product or incomplete descriptions of the issue will not be accepted and/or delay the processing of your warranty claim.

 

INFLATABLE BOAT LIMITED WARRANTY
Two Year Limited Warranty -
(Warranty is non-transferable)
Newport inflatable products are manufactured with treated PVC materials. PVC material by nature (all brands & all models) will begin to break down over time if left out in the elements. This warranty does not cover cases where products have been improperly protected against the elements for an extended duration.   1. We guarantee that each new inflatable boat and its accessories (hereinafter to be referred to as the “product”) is free from defects in material and workmanship.
  2. This warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship, it does not apply to normal wear and tear, or to damage caused by:
    • Neglect, abuse, lack of maintenance, accident, abnormal or improper use, improper assembly, or failed repair attempts.
    • Use of an accessory or part neither manufactured nor sold by us.
    • Alteration or removal of parts.
    • Commercial use.
    • Improper protection against UV-light.
    • Extended exposure to the elements; sun, water, moisture, or humidity.
  3. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential costs or expenses
    such as haul-out, launching, towing transport and storage charges, telephone or rental charges of any type, inconvenience, waste of time or income losses, or other consequential damages.
  4. The customer must provide reasonable access to the product for warranty service by delivering the product for inspection to a dealer authorized to service the purchaser’s product. If a purchaser cannot deliver the product to such authorized dealer, the purchaser shall notify the company in writing. We shall then arrange for the inspection and repair, provided such service is covered under this warranty. The purchaser shall pay for all related transport expenses and/or any other expenses associated with that service. Any product or part shipped by the purchaser for inspection or repair must be shipped with transportation charges prepaid. Taking photographs and emailing them may suffice with Newport approval.
  5. Our obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repairing a defective part, or at our discretion, replacing such part or parts as shall be necessary to remedy the malfunction resulting from defects in material or workmanship as covered by this warranty. We reserve the right to improve the design of any product without assuming any obligation to modify any product previously manufactured. Each Purchase is entitled to one warranty claim submission and approval, once the claim is processed and approved, the Purchase is no longer eligible for future warranty claims.
  6. Boats purchased from unauthorized retailers are not covered by this warranty such as 3rd party Amazon resellers, eBay resellers, or other liquidators.
  7. Boats purchased in a condition stated as "Refurbished", "Renewed" or "Used", are not subject to this warranty policy.

 

TROLLING MOTOR LIMITED WARRANTY
Two Year Limited Warranty - (Warranty is non-transferable)

  1. We guarantee that each new electric trolling motor (hereinafter to be referred to as the “product”) is free from defects in material and workmanship.
  2. If your product arrives in a badly damaged box, please notify Newport immediately. If the box has been opened during shipment, simply refuse delivery of the product and it will be delivered back to our warehouse so we can ship you a replacement.
  3. This warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase, it does not apply to normal wear and tear (worn brushes from use), or to damage caused by:
    • Neglect, abuse, accidents, theft, abnormal or improper use, or modification.
    • Use of an accessory or part not manufactured or sold by Newport.
    • Alteration or removal of parts.
    • Commercial use.
  4. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential costs or expenses such as haul-out, launching, towing transport and storage charges, telephone or rental charges of any type, inconvenience, waste of time or income losses, or other consequential damages.
  5. Newport's obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repairing a defective part, or at our discretion, replacing such part or parts as shall be necessary to remedy the malfunction resulting from defects in material or workmanship as covered by this warranty. ELECTRIC OUTBOARD LIMITED WARRANTY

  1. We guarantee that each new electric outboard (hereinafter to be referred to as the “product”) is free from defects in material and workmanship.
  2. If your product arrives in a badly damaged box, please notify Newport immediately. If the box has been opened during shipment, simply refuse delivery of the product and it will be delivered back to our warehouse so we can ship you a replacement.
  3. This warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase, it does not apply to normal wear and tear, or to damage caused by:
  • Neglect, abuse, accidents, theft, abnormal or improper use, or modification.
  • Use of an accessory or part not manufactured or sold by Newport.
  • Alteration or removal of parts.
  • Commercial use.
  • This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential costs or expenses such as haul-out, launching, towing transport and storage charges, telephone or rental charges of any type, inconvenience, waste of time or income losses, or other consequential damages.
  • Approved warranty products are required to be returned to the manufacturer warehouse prior to receiving replacement. Replacement material cannot be shipped until the returned material has been received and tested. If the defect is covered by this warranty, Newport will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA#) along with return instructions to the customer.

 

NEWPORT BRANDED ACCESSORY LIMITED WARRANTY
Two Year Limited Warranty - (Warranty is non-transferable)

  1. We guarantee that each new Newport Branded Accessory (hereinafter to be referred to as the “product”) is free from defects in material and workmanship.
  2. If your product arrives in a badly damaged box, please notify Newport immediately. If the box has been opened during shipment, simply refuse delivery of the product by the delivery driver and it will be returned back to our warehouse so we can ship you a replacement.
  3. This warranty applies only to defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase, it does not apply to normal wear and tear, or to damage caused by:
    • Neglect, abuse, accidents, theft, abnormal or improper use, or modification.
    • Use of an accessory or part not manufactured or sold by Newport.
    • Alteration or removal of parts.
    • Commercial use.
  4. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential costs or expenses such as haul-out, launching, towing transport and storage charges, telephone or rental charges of any type, inconvenience, waste of time or income losses, or other consequential damages.

NEWPORT BATTERY LIMITED WARRANTY

All Newport Lithium Batteries are covered by a 5-year warranty from the time of purchase. Proof of purchase is required if the item was purchased direct, or through any dealer. All Newport Battery products are individually inspected and quality-checked before shipment. Should any of our products fail due to any inherent defects in the product itself, we will gladly send replacement parts or fully replace them as covered under our warranty. However, some items are not covered and are discussed below.

Unless another warranty is agreed upon in the Terms of Sale, Newport Battery warrants only to the original purchaser of Newport Batteries product that the product is free of defects in material and workmanship for a period specified below. Warranty only applies to orders originating in North America, from the date of purchase as indicated on the receipt/invoice.

  • This warranty covers defective products. Any defective products will be repaired or replaced with a new product of the same or equivalent model, at Newport's discretion.
  • This warranty does not cover damage to the product caused by accidental submerging of the battery in any body of water (lake, stream, pond, or ocean), leaving the battery exposed in the rain, exposure to excessive humidity, exposure to extremely low/high temperatures, overcurrent situations during either charging or discharging of the battery, abuse, neglect, improper use, unauthorized modification or tampering, improper maintenance, normal wear and tear, disposal in a fire, freezing, charging the battery while at freezing temperatures (less than 0 deg C or 32 deg F), theft, accidental damage, or other forms of physical damage.
  • This warranty shall be in lieu of any other warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
