EXTREMELY STURDY
I recently mounted the NT 300 on my kayak and purchased the Newport transom mount to mount to my kayak. The 4 bolt holes line up perfectly with my kayaks pre drilled locations which made install a BREEZE!!! High quality materials and a very sleek finish!!! Beautiful product.
The best trolling motor transom mount
This mount is very strong and lightweight. I really like the lip that prevents your trolling motor from slipping off into the water. To get the bolt holes centered on my Jackson take two, I did a little light grinding on two small areas of the mount. This only took about 5 minutes, and it fit perfectly. I also like the open area in the mount. Since this covers up my lifting handle, I rigged up a 2" wide strap, and slide it through the mount opening when not using it.
Perfect
Fit and finish is perfect and sturdy.
Transom motor mount
The Newport transom motor mount is the best. I put it on the front of a 14 foot pontoon so i can tilt the trolling motor in the shallow spots and weeds. Once you screw the motor down the metal bracket on the back prevents the motor from coming off. This adds a level of safety.
DIDN’T FIT MY 128X YAK UNMODIFIED
IT flared to wide to fit in my128X yak. The kayak had straight sides while the NEWPORT has flared sides. Had to convert the NEWPORT to straight sides. Took a while but got it.
