Excellent product

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent alternative to other batteries on the market, with its design it can be more easily stowed on a kayak or boat, and with its casing it feels a lot more durable than other batteries!

Great for kayak trolling motor

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Cannot believe the amount of charge battery holds, I have not come close to depleting it on my fishing outings.

Amazing quality. Expensive, but worth it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Amazing! Planning for next season with two 36volt batteries and the nk300. This way for the nk300, 24volt trolling motor, and the 12volt fishing gear as in fish finder all come off the same batteries. Plan on using 36 to 24 dc buck converting and a 36 to 12 dc buck converting all in the xtr130. Love it. Beyond excited!

Stoked!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Mkay, at this point I am in the final stages of getting everything setup (several unique steps getting a motor on a white water raft), so unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to use the new LoPro battery on the water. Yet I know I made the optimal choice in selecting this new battery, and can award 5 stars for what I know it will be.

I imagine this is still work in progress and realistically I also know I won’t likely be using the app all that frequently, but at this point, Google Play isn’t loading the Newport app on my phone. This is because the app was made for an older version of Android (Pixel 9). Not a high priority item for me, and I imagine this is still work in progress for Newport.

Does the Newport LoPRO use the same BMS Software and App as my previous Newport Lithium battery?

Yes! Simply open the app, connect to the Bluetooth software and look for the serial number of the LoPRO battery to connect and manage.

Is this battery compatible with Newport Motors?

Yes, the LoPRO batteries can be used with any Lithium-compatible motor.

Is the charger included with the LoPRO? And which charger do I select for my Newport LoPRO Battery?

The LoPRO Battery Charger is NOT included with the battery. The LoPRO battery requires a specific charger that works with the Amphenol connectors.

What happens when my LoPRO battery hasn’t been used for 60 minutes?

The Newport LoPRO batteries are designed to go into a Deep Sleep mode after 60 minutes when not in use. This deep sleep mode provides a longer storage life for every Newport Battery, and acts as a safety measure to protect the internal cells to ensure optimal lifespan and performance.

To wake your Newport Battery you can do any one of the following:
-Connect the Newport App
-Connect to your charger
-Connector to a load source (ex. NK, NT or NV motor)

If the battery doesn’t wake up upon executing one of the above actions, your battery has reached a state of sleep function where it is required to receive a second “ping” or action in order to wake. To provide a second “ping” simply connect to the Newport App and connect to your battery (serial number will appear when connected) or try to repeat any one of the actions noted above more than once.

Does the Newport LoPRO require any special handling or maintenance?

No! Actually, quite the opposite! The LoPRO offers less worry and less maintenance than traditional AGM or Lithium batteries in a convenient and portable case that can be stored and stacked! Keeping the terminals clean and sand out of the connectors is the most important maintenance tip.
