Very impressed with the power and ease of installation on this. I have it installed on an Old Town PDL 120 and it’s opened up a whole new level of fishing for me. I can now reach those far away places with ease and with a 50ah batttery I normally only use about 50% of it. Super impressed

Warranty motor

Over all experience was pretty good. What I wanted actually happened. Customer service could be a little more responsive. I also had issue with customer service contradicting what the manual says … code meanings were the issue. Once I completed all that they asked for and explained my issues I was taken care of very quickly. I now have my replacement motor and couldn’t be more happy. I’ve been a 180s user for 3 years and now I upgraded to the nk 180 pro. If this motor performs like the 180s did I will be happy. Love the motors. I use mine in salt and fresh water. I use them to make 5 mile runs, or go out 7 miles off shore and to tournament fish. The motors have been solid other than the one I replaced.

My NK180 Pro

The NK180 Pro performs as advertised. Period! There are no exaggerations by Newport in their description of the motor or in its performance. And it comes very neatly packaged with labeled parts and easy to follow instructions. I have a heavy Wilderness Systems Recon 120 and even loaded with fishing gear, a small icebox, tool box, etc, the 180 Pro delivers. It is one powerful, lightweight, little electric motor. I am very satisfied with my purchase of the NK180 Pro from Newport.

More power

This thing definitely has more power than the last model right off the get go. 599 watts at 100% throttle. It’s also quieter with a lower pitched whine compared to the last model.

NK180Pro

Love how easy it is to install. Had to make a custom plate for my Bonafide SS107 since it doesn't have a big enough flat spot but it went fairly well. Was able to get just under 5MPH on my heavy, fully loaded SS107. The noise from the brushless motor is actually louder than my old brushed Minn kota motor but I'm not to concerned about noise.

Stellar motor!

Took it out for the third time tonight and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance! Hitting about 5.3 mph in my native slayer max 12.5. Replacement of old NK 180

Newport’s customer service was excellent. After troubleshooting the problem of my old NK 180 it was determined that it needed to be replaced under warranty. I received a new NK180 Pro promptly.
