Dana Inflatable Boat

At 8’10”, the Dana makes an excellent 1-2 person fishing dinghy, 3 person tender, or 3 person runabout. With a 10hp motor the boat can reach speeds of around 15-20mph when on plane. The marine wood floors provide a solid and stable surface for standing or casting, and the 18” tubes keep passengers safe and dry when traveling at speed. The Dana features all the same convenience features as the rest of the Newport dinghy lineup with an inflatable keel, durable wood floor, a 180° splash guard & grab rope, rub strakes, grab handles, Bimini attachment D-Rings, towing D-rings, and wear patches underneath the tubes.

Frequently Asked Questions

You know how they say there’s no such thing as a dumb question? Well, they were wrong, but here are some common not-so-dumb ones

How Do I Assemble My Inflatable Boat?

Assembly of your Newport Vessels inflatable boat will take about 15-20 minutes (especially the first time). Please view the above video and the below steps to aid in the assembly and installation of the aluminum framed wooden floor boards. This part of the process will take about 5 minutes by using the following steps.

STEP A: Properly place Newport Vessels inflatable boat floor boards inside the boat in the correct order and attach the inflatable boat floor boards at the joint locations. Watch video above for proper technique & floorboard alignment instructions.

STEP B: Conjoin each individual floor together by inserting each floor boat (in the correct order) into the appropriate bracket. Once again, watch the above video for proper technique & inflatable boat floor board alignment instructions.

STEP C: Now that the inflatable boat floor board panels are properly and even placed within the boat (and the joints are properly connected) grab all the stringers and prepare for the aluminum stringer insertion. The longer side of the stinger is to be placed against the floor of the inflatable boat (leaving the more narrow/thin portion of the stringer facing upward. The motion to set the stingers in place is a rolling motion (not a sliding motion). The stingers are designed to roll into place and to secure snugly and not move. Watch video above for proper Newport Vessels inflatable boat stringer installation.

STEP D: Repeat the above steps for each individual aluminum stringer so that each joint of the wood panel floors are properly secured in place. The aluminum framed wood panel flooring provides an extremely rigid and secure flooring system for your boat. Wood flooring is recommended for multi passenger uses, dogs, standing, fishing, and all versatile inflatable boating applications. Watch the video above for proper technique & floor board alignment instructions.

How Do I Receive Boat Registration Documents?

If you purchased a boat directly from www.newportvessels.com, we will automatically mail the boat registration documents separately from the boat package. If the boat was purchased new on Amazon.com, or another retail store, or you are the original boat owner and need replacement documents, please fill out our Boat Registration Form.

Serial or Hull ID Numbers are used to register boats with your local DMV. The 9th character in the Hull ID is a letter. Often customers mistake an upper case "i", which is correct, for the number 1. Please pay extra attention to this as the forms need to be manually remade if this is incorrect.

For example: TRR 12345 I020

Second-Hand Purchase
For customers that purchased a Newport branded boat secondhand, we are not legally able to issue documents to you. Newport can only produce the Vessel Bill of Sale and a Manufacturing Statement of Origin to the original owner.

The second or subsequent owner(s) will need to contact the original owner and have them fill out the “First Assignment” on the Manufacturing Statement of Origin to sign the boat over to you legally. If the original owner does not have the boat documents, we still cannot make these under the second owner’s name. Please have the original owner fill out our boat document request form with their name and address on the receipt. Once they receive the boat documents from us, they can legally sign the boat over to you.

If the original owner is unreachable or deceased, please reach out to your local DMV to secure boat document forms.

How Do I Register My Inflatable Boat?

The Vessel's Bill of Sale (VBS) and Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) we provide is everything you will require from our end to register your vessel.
Take your VBS, MSO and a copy of your receipt purchase to your local DMV to register your inflatable boat. Depending on your state, the DMV may require you to fill out additional forms or documents. All customers will be responsible for filling out the necessary forms required by your local DMV. You can find specific requirements for your individual state at the DMV Boat Registration and License page.

DMV Requires Additional Information From Us
If you require additional information or the DMV states they require additional information from us, please get in contact with a representative so we may assist you.

How Do I Care for My Inflatable Boat After Use?

After each use, rinse your boat to help prevent stains, growth, and aquatic hitchhikers.
Our dinghies require some maintenance that will lengthen your boat’s life and reduce future maintenance. When rinsing the dinghy, pay extra attention to the seams along the floorboards or the air floor. You may partially deflate your boat to remove your floorboards. This will help you access the crevice between the tube and the floor of your boat. Cleaning this area reduces mildew and grime.

Elevating your boat will help you rinse the boat off more quickly. This allows all the water to run down to the transom leaving dirty water in one area. You can lean the boat over and spray the boat gently with a hose to get the remnants out of your vessel.
