      The customer service did a good job helping we will an issue I had with my NK300 motor. I’m not sure exactly why the motor would not work but Newport replaced my NK300 within a few weeks. The unit is a great motor. I can run it all day and there’s plenty of juice left. I can maintain 4 miles an hour in San Diego Bay, and that’s with the throttle at 30% . Overall, I’m extremely happy with the motor and it’s performance.

      Awesome motor

      Had the pleasure of using the NK300 for the first time this past weekend. I knew I was going to like it but it exceeded my expectations and when watching videos of people saying it’ll make a wake, it really does and gets you going. All in all awesome awesome electric outboard. I wish later on you guys create a 5 or 7hp motor that’ll be epic!!!

      Best Addition I Have Made To My Kayak

      I added the NK300 (paired with the Newport 36V 40AH) to my Old Town Sportsman 120PDL and it is absolutely amazing. Great speed and unbelievable torque. The NK300 dramatically cut down on run time and added much more fishing time to my days on the water. I haven’t run the battery below 84% charge in a day of fishing yet. This is the BEST kayak motor on the market. Highly recommend.

      Versatility

      The NK-300 has more power than I use to power my Nucanoe Frontier12. It is so versatile to transport and install on your canoe, one pin and two plugs. It was just the power solution I was looking for. Thank you Newport!

      I pondered between 180 pro or NK300. Finally went with the NK300. I haven’t had the opportunity to even take it out of the package. I’m hoping to begin the install soon. Just waiting on other orders to come in. Hopefully soon I can give a review.

      NK 300 good power for ocean current and wind on NuCanoe Pursuit

      Got the NK300 for Nucanoe Pursuit ( I like the pursuit because it paddles well, is fast, and stable; and maneuvers well in the tidal creeks I fish). Have used a Honda 2.3hp outboard which is OK but in my opinion/experience isn’t well suited for the Pursuit for several reasons, not to be discussed in this review. Based on my experience with the Honda outboard, I decided that 3 hp is optimal for my specific fishing needs. I ordered all accessories for installation of the NK300 from NuCanoe as the NuCanoe is an oddball for installation with the Newport system. The Newport system works well with most other worthy kayak brands ( including Bonafide which I will hopefully test at a later date). The Pros: Great power for overcoming wind and currents, not too heavy weighted for stern of the Pursuit, it’s lighter than the Honda outboard but I do have concerns about the long term construction of the stern support on the Pursuit. The controller/ battery hook up works well and was easy for me to adapt to using; you can really control your speed/power output ( have not had to run over 65% and have used at low of 3%) The NK300 has lot of torque so gentle with that controller. I seem to be able to run faster than the Honda outboard and I do not have to get out of my seat to fool with the motor. The battery cable is long enough that I put my battery in the front of boat which is necessary in balancing out the weight in the Pursuit. I got a 36V 30Amp lithium battery to stay on the liter side but would recommend upping your amps if you can take the extra weight. I Would Not Put Battery In The Stern on The Pursuit because of balancing the weight distribution for optimal performance ( I’m 5’11”and weigh 178 lb, I have my seat positioned with the molded in cup holders just behind me on the Pursuit) . The NK 300 and 36V30A seems to be very efficient system. I elected using the hand steering system with the Pursuit because I wanted to keep the floor more open, hand steering works well and I’m satisfied with it. CON: The lift system for using on the Pursuit; I’m going to have to figure out my own modifications ?? Overall I’m satisfied with the Newport NK 300. Any dissatisfaction I have will be modifying it to the NuCanoe Pursuit. For the short time I’ve used it all good. I think this Newport system will work very well on Bonafide SS 127
